Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Logia ("Logia", "we", "us") about your use of the Logia app, website, and content (together, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If anything here is unclear, email ekaterina.gasparian@gmail.com.
1. What Logia is
Logia is a language-learning e-reader: you read real books in a language you're learning, and the app adapts how each word is shown to how well you know it. It's a companion for learning through reading — a helpful tool, not a course, a tutor, or a guarantee of fluency.
2. Using the Service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial language learning. Logia is a general-audience reading app suitable for children; if you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission. You agree to use the Service lawfully and not to misuse it (see "Acceptable use" below). If you install Logia from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms for the app itself, it prevails.
3. Free reading, subscription, and payments
- Free tier
- You can open any book, in any language, and read up to the middle of it for free — no account and no payment required. We may adjust where the free portion ends over time.
- Subscription
- An optional auto-renewable subscription unlocks the full text of every book and the whole library, including new books and languages we add. Current pricing is US$3.99/month or US$23.99/year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, and Apple Family Sharing (up to 6 people). Prices may vary by region and may change; we'll give notice of a change before it affects you.
- Billing through Apple
- Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account, under Apple's terms. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings, not in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
- No account with us
- Logia has no user accounts or logins of its own. Your entitlement is tied to your Apple ID, and your reading progress stays on your device (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Books and intellectual property
Every book in Logia is either a public-domain work (e.g. from Project Gutenberg) or an original work created for Logia. Nothing in the library is pirated. Public-domain texts are free of copyright; original works and all translations, glosses, alignments, and other Logia-produced content are owned by or licensed to Logia.
The Logia app, its design, its name and logo, and the underlying method for adaptive, knowledge-aware rendering of text (patent pending) are the intellectual property of Logia. Your subscription lets you read the content within the app — it does not transfer ownership of anything. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape, or bulk-export the books or the app's content, and you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's data or models, except where the law expressly permits.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms Logia or other users;
- copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly share the books, translations, or other content;
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the library or the app's data;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, its entitlement checks, or its content protection;
- circumvent the free/paid boundary or otherwise access content you're not entitled to.
6. Your data
Logia keeps your vocabulary and reading progress on your device and collects only anonymous usage analytics; the early-access form on this website collects what you submit. Exactly what is and isn't collected — and the third parties involved (Apple, TelemetryDeck, Google Forms) — is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Availability and changes
We're a small team building actively, and the Service is offered "as available". We may add, change, or remove books, languages, features, or prices, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't promise that Logia will be error-free or uninterrupted, that any particular book or language will remain available, or that using it will produce any specific level of language proficiency. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under mandatory consumer law (for example, the Australian Consumer Law), which apply in addition to these terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Logia will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (through Apple) for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some of these limits may not apply to you where consumer law says they can't.
10. Termination
You can stop using Logia at any time and delete the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms (for example, by pirating or scraping content). Your statutory rights and any active subscription managed through Apple are unaffected by these terms and are governed by Apple's policies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and Logia submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
