Logia is built by one person. Bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback all reach the same inbox — and they're read.

A heads-up: Logia is still in beta. Things will occasionally be rough around the edges — a translation that reads a little oddly, a word graded as harder or easier than it should be, the odd bug. That's expected at this stage, and telling me about it genuinely helps shape the app. If something looks off, get in touch below — a screenshot helps.

When reporting a bug, it helps to include:

• Your device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro)
• The iOS version (Settings → General → About → Software Version)
• What you were doing when the issue happened
• A screenshot if the issue is visible

Common questions

What does Logia do?

Logia is a reader for foreign-language books. Words you know stay in the original language; words you don't get translated inline. As you read, the app learns what you know and the page gradually shifts toward the target language. More on the home page.

Which languages are supported?

Seven language pairs so far: German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, and Arabic for English speakers, plus German and Arabic for Russian speakers. More are on the roadmap.

Where do the books come from?

A mix of public-domain texts from Project Gutenberg and projekt-gutenberg.org, and original books written for Logia. The featured book is Der rote Merkur by Auguste Groner (1910).

Can I add my own books?

Not yet. User-uploaded public-domain books are on the roadmap.

Where is my reading data stored?

On your device only. Nothing is uploaded to any server. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.

How do I reset my vocabulary state?

In the quiz menu, tap Start Over. Your previous state is backed up to a single recovery slot, and a Restore saved state option appears in the menu until you next tap Start Over.

I marked a word "Known" by mistake

Tap the same word again. The sheet now shows Mark Not-Known, which reverses the call.

The pronunciation button is silent (especially for Arabic)

Logia speaks words using the voices built into your phone, and iOS doesn't ship every language's voice by default — Arabic in particular usually has to be added once. If the speaker plays nothing, install the voice: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, pick your language, and download a voice (for Arabic, e.g. "Maged"). Those menu names appear in your phone's own language, so the quickest way to find them is to open Settings, pull down to reveal the search bar, and search for "Voices". Once a voice is installed, the button speaks.

How do I get on the beta?

Add your email to the early-access list on the home page and we'll send a TestFlight invite as slots open up. Beta slots are limited while the app is still finding its feet.
